LIVE CONCERT with Anna-Maria Hefele

Anna-Maria Hefele, overtone singer and musician, will invite you to a lively journey through different musical cultures in this concert. You will be hearing some of her own compositions, songs and improvisations for polyphonic solo voice, accompained by Florian Zack (accordion) and on some of her own instruments, like nyckelharpa and harp.Starting from her new overtone- music, this melodic journey will also connect back to original alpine yodels and folk songs from middle europe, as well as to baroque melodies. The performance will take place by candlelight in a small charming deconsecrated church.

Overtone singing is a type of singing in which the singer manipulates his resonances. This resonant tuning allows the singer to create apparently more than one pitch at the same time, while actually generating only a single fundamental frequency with his/her vocal folds. With this workshop you’ll learn to create, listen to and control overtones, and to sing real melodies thanks to this charming vocal technique.
